HARRIERS have added to their squad ahead of another busy run of fixtures with the addition of Devonte Redmond from Wrexham.
The 25-year-old joins on loan until the end of the season from the National League outfit and, subject to international clearance, will be available for Saturday’s trip to Darlington.
The midfielder began his career with Manchester United, gaining experience with Scunthorpe United on loan before a move to Salford City in 2019, a spell that featured promotion to the EFL via the play-offs.
That summer he moved to Wrexham where he’s been since, but, having struggled for regular first team football at the Racecourse, has opted to switch to Aggborough for the remainder of 2021/22.
“I’ve followed Devonte for the last couple of years,” boss Russ Penn said of his newest recruit.
“It hasn’t really worked out for him at various clubs, but he’s a player with a big smile on his face who wants to get back to playing football.
“He’ll have that opportunity here. He’s a big name, but he’s got to find himself as well and believe what he can be because there’s no doubt that, if he puts the performances in, he won’t be at this level for very long.
“I’m absolutely delighted, and he’ll complement our squad massively.”
There’s reaction from Devonte on our YouTube channel now.
