HARRIERS have added to their squad ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Cheshunt with the signing of Scott Burgess on loan from York City.

The 25-year-old midfielder is a former Bury man who has further EFL experience with Port Vale. He spent five years with The Shakers, during which a season-long long loan to Macclesfield saw him play a part in their promotion from the National League.

Burgess also impressed while on loan with York the following season – including a Goal of the Season winner at Aggborough in the Minstermen’s 2-1 here that term. His move to Vale followed, before a switch to Grimsby Town where he was part of the squad that won promotion to the EFL via the play-offs last summer.

He returned to York in June and has featured five times in the National League this season.

The player has penned a loan deal that keeps him at Aggborough until the New Year.

Welcome to Harriers, Scott!
