A look ahead to the New Year clash with Rushall at Aggborough

PHIL Brown says Harriers must prepare for a ‘wounded and hurting’ Rushall Olympic at Aggborough on New Year’s Day.
Brown’s charges head into the clash in good form themselves, while The Pics have found consistent results hard to come by during this campaign.
They begin 2025 at the foot of National League North, knowing they need to swiftly turn form around if they’re to bridge the gap between themselves and safety.
The Reds, meanwhile, have three points in mind for their own target of returning to the summit in the wake of Scunthorpe’s win over King’s Lynn on New Year’s Eve.
It will come neither easily or on the cheap against Rushall, however, with Brown warning: “Having lost the last six games, everybody probably thinks it is a walkover, but far from it – that’s when those wounded animals are dangerous.
“They might still be caged but they are wounded and they’re hurting, and we have got to prepare for that eventuality.”
Brown added: “We’ll be prepared, physically, technically, as we always are, but the mentality has got to be the same as the Hereford game.”
Harriers will look to build on the magnificent performance at Hereford last time out that saw them dispatch the Bulls 3-0 on Boxing Day.
A full and focused performance is required as Brown goes up against former West Bromwich Albion favourite Richard Sneekes, who re-took the permanent reins at Rushall earlier this month.
He reflected: “Richard Sneekes is the Manager, somebody who Macca played with back in the day at Bolton.
“He was an exponent of the beautiful game, and I think he’s trying to play that way, there’s no doubt about it.
“When you’re trying to get a tune out of a group of players that look at the league table and see that they’re rock bottom, it’s very difficult.
“He’s got a difficult job on his hands, there’s no doubt about it, but we are what we are, and the league table doesn’t lie. At the same time, we’ve got to make sure that, over 90 minutes, the league table doesn’t lie.”
Kick-off at Aggborough on Wednesday is at 3:00pm.
