HARRIERS ensured they’ll be in the last 16 of the FA Trophy after a convincing 4-0 win over Slough  in Round Four.

An Ashley Hemmings hat-trick and Maz Kouhyar’s fourth goal of the season were enough to seal a one-sided success for the Reds at Aggborough as the ideal fight-back after the defeat to Rushall three days prior.

David Davis might have got in on the act before those two – he had the game’s first chance with a well-taken effort as the ball landed to him on the edge of the area, but he pulled his effort wide of the target.

Hemmings ensured Harriers would soon be ahead, though, breaking the deadlock on 15 minutes by coolly and cheekily poking the ball under Horlock between the sticks as he tidied away Jim Kellermann’s cross.

It was 2-0 not long after when  Hemmings, boosted by that goal, picked the ball up midway into the Slough half and carried it forward with space ahead of him, picking out his spot and finishing superbly.

Slough threated to respond through a Scott Davies free kick shortly after the second goal but the midfielder bent his effort wide of the post.

The visitors were 3-0 down at the break as another wave of home pressure told; Kouhyar initially thwarted by a good Horlock save but making no mistake seconds later with an accomplished finish low into the net to ensure Harriers were 3-0 up come the break.

On 54 minutes it was 4-0 and, despite a treble change at the interval, all but game over for the visitors as Hemmings wrapped up a trio of his own, latching on to Reiss McNally’s ball forward before finding the back of the net once again.

Harriers were always looking for more goals but found chances more at a premium at 4-0. Slough, meanwhile, did their best to reduce the arrears and were denied by Christian Dibble and the woodwork in quick succession with 19 left to play as Jonny Goddard was left with hands on his head.
