A look ahead to Tuesday night’s game…

HARRIERS travel to Merthyr Town on Tuesday night looking to build on Saturday’s point at Chester.
Merthyr first season back in National League North has so far reflected both the excitement and the challenge of promotion.
After winning the Southern League Premier South title in 2024/25 to return to Step 2 for the first time in more than a decade, the Martyrs began the new campaign with optimism and strong travelling support.
Paul Michael’s side have more than held their own, winning five and losing five in an all-or-nothing start that underlines their tenacity and will to win.
Early-season form saw Merthyr take points from established names such as Chester and Southport, while a convincing 3-0 win over Curzon Ashton in August showcased their attacking intent.
The Martyrs haven’t had it all their own way – they were hit for six on the road at Spennymoor at the weekend, though scoring four times themselves again highlighted the threat they continue to pose in front of goal.
Historically, Harriers and the different guises of Merthyr – including Merthyr Tydfil – share a long and varied history that stretches back more than 75 years, with meetings across no fewer than eight different competitions. The overall record favours Harriers, who have won 32 of the 62 encounters to Merthyr’s 12, with 18 draws between the sides.
Their clashes have spanned the Southern League, the Conference and a variety of regional cups, reflecting both clubs’ long-standing status in the non-league game.
The fixture has often produced goals. The highest-scoring of all came in 1955 when Merthyr edged a 5-6 thriller, while Harriers recorded emphatic home wins such as 6-1 that same year and 4-1 in 1994.
In the Conference era, Kidderminster hold the edge with six wins to Merthyr’s three, though the Welsh side have often made life difficult – including narrow one-goal defeats and several draws across the 1990s.
The two last met in April 1995 when a Paul Davies strike earned Harriers a 1-0 win.
Kick off on Tuesday night is at 7:45pm and Harriers fans are again reminded they must purchase tickets online as none are on sale at the ground.

SUPPORTER CONDUCT
We would like to reinforce our message on supporter conduct

Both documents are clearly visible and available on entry turnstiles but are also available for download below.
Specifically, we would like to remind supporters that the club will not tolerate supporter misconduct of any kind. This includes but is not limited to:

- Entering the field of play or its immediate surrounding area without permission
- The throwing of missiles towards the pitch, technical area or dugout
