Academy Action: 21st-25th January 2019

Stay up to date with this week’s Academy matches…



THREE matches will be taking place at COSE on Wednesday afternoon as part of a week containing seven fixtures.

On Monday, Harriers were due to face Tipton Town in the Midland Floodlit Youth League, but this was postponed.

Fast-forward to Wednesday, in COSE action are our U23s against Birmingham City University, our ECFA Championship Div C team face Shrewsbury College, and our ECFA Football League team will play Worcester XIth Form.

All of these matches at COSE will kick off at 2pm.

Travelling away from COSE on Wednesday is our ECFA Premier League team who face Sandwell College in Cup action, and our ECFA Championship Div C team will travel to face Lichfield City in friendly.

Our National League U19s Alliance team were due to face Boldmere St. Michaels, but this was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Over the previous weekend, the first team travelled faced AFC Telford United and picked up a 1-0 victory – a match containing several current Academy players and graduates.

Making his first team debut was Academy graduate and current U23s defender Harry Higginson, whose hard-fought, battling performance played an integral part in the victory.

Additionally, Academy graduate and current Academy coach Tom Palmer made kept a clean sheet from the substitutes bench, replacing Brandon Hall after 12 minutes.

Current Academy player Harry Stratford was also amongst the substitutes, as were U23s players Shane Lowth and Milan Butterfield – the latter making his way onto the pitch during the second half.
