HARRIERS ended a long run without a win by coming from behind to beat Guiseley 2-1 with a great performance.

Ashley Chambers levelled matters for the Reds, who had been behind at  the break.

A Sam Austin screamer sealed the turnaround, with a fine defensive showing then seeing out the win.

The game was played in largely horrific conditions with driving rain and a strong wind, yet Harriers managed to play some good stuff throughout.

After Guiseley had gone close with an effort Williams needed to hook off the line, Harriers moved into the ascendancy and went close through Prosser who had a brace of chances before the half-hour; seeing one shot blocked after being set up by Weeks, before being denied by a fine last-ditch tackle by Garner as he shaped to tap into the net off Chambers’ cross.

Chambers himself then had a couple of chances to score but hit wide with one and struck across goal with another, before Guiseley netted against the run of play on 40 minutes as Kane Felix nipped in between Moyo and Johnson to slide the ball beyond Mannion.

In the second half Harriers went close through Butterfield after Shenton drive wildly wide – the equaliser coming ten after the restart when Chambers slotted home a delightful Austin cross. Eight minutes later it was two, Austin going from provider to scorer as he teased the ball on the edge of the area before curling a simply awesome finish past Dewhurst and into his top corner.

Harriers continued to press; Shenton and Austin both saw attempts blocked before Chambers went mighty close to making it three; only denied by another great intervention from Garner after the striker had been played through on goal.
