After a month without a game, Harriers Ladies returned to action with a win against Rugby Town on Sunday.
Due to various reasons, this was the Ladies’ first game since January, but the Ladies won comfortably against a Rugby side that worked hard defensively to limit the scoreline.
Danni Selmes took the lead for Harriers from the penalty spot, and then the same player quickly added her second.
A lot of chances were created, but it took a while before Selmes completed her hat-trick, and then her fourth before half time.
Into the second half, Harriers continued to look to extend their lead and it was – you guessed it – Selmes who struck Harriers’ fifth.
Molly Maguire added her team’s sixth, before Rugby worked their way back into the game with two goals.
Selmes rounded off the scoring to make the final score 7-2, helping to maintain pressure on league leaders Stourbridge.
