U18s: Page shines in four-some win

Floodlit team storm to big win…

Harriers went five points clear at the top of the Midland Floodlit Youth League Southern Division with a handsome win over Cheltenham on Wednesday night.

The reds were 4-0 winners at Bishop’s Cleeve, with Lewis page in particularly sparkling form as he provided ammunition for most of the goals.

In truth, the game was done and dusted just after half time as Harriers scored all their goals with less than 50 minutes on the clock.

Lewis O’Brien was the first to find the target with 20 minutes gone as he nodded in a rebound after Josh Allen had struck the bar with a free kick.

It was 2-0 at the interval as Page’s run and cross found Harrison Yates, with two more goals following swiftly after the re-start.

Page’s second assist helped Allen to a headed goal, before Josh Barnes rounded off the scoring – aided again by Page – with the night’s fourth.

Scott Mason, U18s Coach commented: “We said after our last game that performances had been okay but we needed to improve in front of goal so it was pleasing to see us do that.

“We said at half time that we had to make sure we finished the game off so getting the goals when we did certainly did that.”
