Harriers U18s picked up an impressive away victory on Thursday night – a 3-1 victory against Pegasus Juniors in the Midland Floodlit Youth League.
The young Reds thought they had taken the lead in the first half, but the goal was ruled out for offside, meaning the score remained goalless at half time despite Harriers creating numerous chances.
However, it took only two minutes to open the scoring following the break as a short free kick was played wide to Ital Allen who cut the ball back across for Josh Barnes to finish into the top right corner.
Harriers then doubled their lead on 60 minutes. Goalkeeper Jack Stanton launched the ball to Harrison Yates from a goal kick who turned a Pegasus defender, and produced a calm, low finish to the keeper’s right.
The home side pulled one back after 70 minutes following a long throw, but Harriers regained their two goal advantage ten minutes later through Zak Ballard. Ital Allen played in a teasing low cross to Callum Wood, whose flick found Ballard who was on hand to finish, rounding off an impressive away victory.
The victory leaves Harriers top of the league and in good form ahead of next Thursday’s match against Bromyard Town at Walshes Meadow.
