Report: Boston draw forces replay

Replay after Trophy draw at Boston….

Andre Brown

HARRIERS and Boston United will replay at Aggborough this coming Tuesday night after drawing 2-2 at York Street.

The reds were in total control after a dominant first half and two goals in the second from Andre Brown and Joe Ironside, but the hosts struck late through Curry and Tshimanga to level things up.

Harriers could have been well ahead at the break. Brown, Ironside, Ngwatala, Croasdale and Weeks all had goo chances to open the scoring.

Ironside and Croasdale were probably the closest – Ironside’s 20th-minute, low shot fizzing just wide, with the skipper arrowing a firm drive off target just eight minutes later.

The visitors did find the net after the restart, however. Brown’s smart finish from close range after Ironside’s header made it 1-0, before Ironside himself netted with a looping header from a corner.

That looked to be it as Harriers controlled the largest part of the tie but, with just 12 minutes to go the home side pulled a goal back as Curry, picking the ball up from a corner, aimed a shot into the top corner.

Barely two minutes later it was 2-2 as Tshimanga turned the ball home from close range – though through Sonupe, Harriers did have an even later chance to score only for goalkeeper Willis to hold his shot.
