Clean sheets key – Fraser

Defender happy to defend…

FRASER HORSFALL had clean sheets on the mind as Harriers were worthy winners against Southport last time out.

The former Huddersfield Town man was on target for the reds in the 3-0 victory at Aggborough Stadium.

It came after the team’s 4-0 success over FC United just a few evenings prior – a match Horsfall was forced to miss through suspension.

He made his return with a bang with the second of the team’s three goals against Kevin Davies’ men.

But it was obvious that the hard work being put in at the other end was what pleased him most.

“As a defender that’s the main thing we were looking for, clean sheets and good performances,” he commented.

“For as long as I can remember at home we have been on fire really and in the first half we were brilliant going forward and in our defending.

“In the second half we got a little bit sloppy at times, but we stayed together and were able to grind out the clean sheet.

“I was happy to come in and get the goal – and the clean sheet!”

Keen to reinforce the team work involved, he added: “It’s not just the defenders in the team, it’s all the way through to the strikers as they do their bit.

“We’re just the defenders but it is a team thing, so credit to all of the lads.”
