Did these fans make the longest trek on Saturday?

THIS WEEK we brought you the story of Worcestershire Cricket Club star Daryl Mitchell coming and enjoying a day at Aggborough – but his cross-County journey has been well and truly trumped!
The batsman and former Pears’ skipper enjoyed a fine time of it as he watched our 3-0 win against Southport.
But it turns out that while Mitchell was a rare enough guest, he doesn’t take the Trophy in that respect.
We’ve since heard from two Sunderland fans who came and took in Saturday’s game – and yes, you read that right! Black Cats followers Ben and Jack Stephenson had pre-booked tickets for their team’s game at Birmingham City but, with that match off, they decided to complete the journey to the Midlands nonetheless.
Looking to take in a game, they surveyed the many options available to them and plumped, we’re pleased to say, for the mighty reds.
Ben got in touch, saying: “What a great choice it was. Finding the ground was easy and we found the facilities once inside to be excellent. The range, taste and quality of the food was in incredible. The club staff were also very friendly.
“All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon…”
“Now for the football; to be honest we didn’t know what to expect but the way your team played was absolutely brilliant. The passing and movement was the best we have seen from any side in a long, long time. The way you blew away the opposition in the first half hour was really impressive.
“All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Could you please pass this on to the Chairman and manager please as we would like them to hear of how good an impression Kidderminster Harriers made on us.
“We will definitely return if we are in the midlands in the future and want to watch a game of football.”
Huge thanks to Jack and Ben for those incredibly kind comments – we look forward to seeing you again at Aggborough someday soon!
