WE hope to host the restart of action for our Junior teams at COSE this coming weekend – here’s a round-up of what’s been happening lately.
We’ll start by taking a quick look back at last weekend’s results:
Under 12s vs Future Elevens Pro Soccer: Lost 1-0
Under 13s vs GPS Reading: Lost 4-1
Goal scorer: Ryan Bangay
Under 14s vs AFC Rushden and Diamonds: Won 5-1
Goal scorers: Jordan Crump, Jack Male, Sam Downs and Brook Williams x 2
This weekend we have the majority of our teams in action (fingers crossed) since the turn of the new year due to the efforts of the Beast from the East.
Despite the bad weather our teams have been constantly training and developing as they should be, on the training ground – and in games where they have been able to squeeze them in. Hopefully now the remainder of the season will be largely unaffected, and all our sides can finish their respective seasons on a high and reach the targets that they have set themselves.
As we are coming to the business end of the season, this Saturday sees two of our youth teams take part in WFA County Cup semi-finals. First, the Under 16s will be playing against Eckington and our Under 14s will be playing against the club’s very own Community FC which will be a hard-fought battle from the off.
It would be of great delight if both of those teams can progress in to the final and represent the club next month (Date TBC) and compete for silverware that they fully deserve after both working tremendously hard throughout the season. Please keep an eye on the club’s twitter page to see how the teams are getting on.
Meanwhile, the rest of our teams are in Junior Premier League action across the country as we host Stourbridge Under 12s in a local derby, the Under 13s have a long away trip to Millenhall Town and the Under 15s will be playing host to Bath Evo Soccer.
Please note that all our home games will kick off at 10:30am and it would be great to see as many supporters as possible cheering on the young Harriers if you can’t make the trip to Alfreton. Also, our COSE Café will be open from 9am where drinks and hot refreshments will be available.
This weekend’s fixtures:
Under 10s vs Coventry Sky Blues (COSE)
Under 12s vs Stourbridge FC (COSE)
Under 13s vs Millenhall Town FC (Away)
Under 14s vs KHFC Community FC (Away) (County Cup semi-final)
Under 15s vs Bath Evo Soccer (COSE)
Under 16s vs Eckington (COSE) (County Cup semi-final)
