Gardiner hails ‘fantastic’ attitudes

Matt Gardiner delivers his verdict after an important three points for Harriers at Alfreton…

Matt Gardiner felt Harriers were “excellent from start to finish” in picking up an important 2-0 win at Alfreton on Tuesday night.

Second half goals from Joe Ironside and Dan Bradley wrapped up an ideal night for the team in Derbyshire.

It was the perfect response, too, after the frustration of the 4-4 draw with Salford City just days prior.

Speaking after the game, Gardiner was understandably delighted with the group and how they saw out the success with minimum fuss.

“I think the players deserve the congratulations; they were excellent from start to finish, as they were excellent on Saturday up to that last part,” he said.

“….they managed the game well and were clinical when they needed to be…” Matt Gardiner

“I am really pleased for them. I thought they managed the game well and were clinical when they needed to be.

“The attitudes are fantastic, and you can see again that the profile of the squad is growing, and they are understanding what they need to do in the game.

“The gaffer has been talking about game plans and, again, the game plan he set up was fantastic and I thought it worked well.”
