JOHN Eustace hailed the fine support that helped push the team over the line to a big win at Blyth Spartans.

Ryan Croasdale and Emmanuel Sonupé struck in the second half to make it a superb brace of wins for the boys against play-off contenders.

Around 100 or so Harriers fans were on hand for the club’s first visit that far north for a couple of decades, and they, too, played their part.

That’s where Eustace directed his praise after the match,

“I’m delighted with the fans,” he commented.

“To travel all the way up from Kidderminster, on a day like this; we’re all very grateful.

“They certainly got us through at the end there.

“I was delighted with the turnout… they’ve travelled such a long way and have supported the boys.”

Of the 2-1 win, the boss reflected: “It was a great performance, I was really pleased with the boys as we really had to battle today.

“Blyth are an excellent team – they play really good football and Alun has got a really good team.

“They’re on a bad run at the moment but they will come out of that and will be dangerous at the end of the season, so I am delighted with the three points.

“It’s a tough place to come… the lads dug in and defended really well.

“Obviously we were disappointed to concede another late goal, but we got through it and it’s a good three points.”
