Super six for Harriers

Another impressive victory for Harriers ladies…

Skipper Anne Johnson

Harriers kept up their good start to the new league season with a 6-0 victory over Solihull Sporting at COSE on Sunday.

The campaign has been a hectic one thus far for the Reds as they battle on League, FA Cup and County Cup fronts – and they passed this latest test comfortably enough, though without ever being at their fluid best.

Molly Maguire inflicted the vast majority of the damage on Sporting as she netted a hat-trick, with Alex Nicklin, Amber Lawrence and skipper Anne Johnson also on target – Lawrence notching for the seventh time in the league from just three starts.

Nicklin might have actually had a brace for the day, but she saw her first-half spot-kick excellently saved, and so, too, the re-bound.

Harriers stood up well to the physical challenge presented to them by the visitors, but will be concerned with Lawrence, Nicklin and Kirsty Roberts all picking up injuries during the game.

Next up for the Reds is another home league tie as they host Kingfisher at COSE on Sunday, 4th November at 2pm.
