RUSS PENN and Jimmy O’Connor will have a big part to play for Harriers between now and the end of the season, says Colin Gordon.
The trio will oversee first team affairs until the end of the season, with the influential and experienced players called upon to provide their own expertise.
It’s hoped the club will be able to reap the benefits of the formative and early parts of what should be promising coaching careers, with Colin saying today: “They both came here with an eye on the future.
“We are creating a coaching culture at the club and they both want to go on to be coaches in their careers.
“Who better than [them] to get two people in who know the club inside out, what we want to achieve and how we want to do it.”
Harriers travel to Spennymoor Town on Tuesday looking to arrest a troublesome run of form.
In accordance with the old cliché, it’s as simple as having to take it one game at a time.
“We have to [take it that way],” added Colin.
“We’ve been caught up too much with how things are going to look in May and forget about what things will look like on Monday.
“We can’t worry about anyone else’s results other than our own and put the work into being as good as we can be.
“Hopefully, at the end of the season, if we have worked hard enough and smart enough, it will be enough for us to achieve what we want to achieve.”
