HARRIERS made a late substitution in their game at Spennymoor on Tuesday, but it was more than just your usual change.
With the squad stretched, Harriers utilised U19s and U23s players from the Academy to bolster the ranks for the trip to Spennymoor.
Milan Butterfield and Harry Higginson joined Academy graduate Tom Palmer on the bench on the night.
And, with the score 2-1 to the hosts and with Harriers chasing a late equaliser, on came teenager Jaiden White for the remaining seconds. The 16-year-old was the youngest player in the club’s recent history to feature in a competitive game.
It continues a great season for the striker, too. As well as his form in the Academy ranks and involvement in the first team, he became the first Academy striker in nine years to be selected for the England Colleges national squad, where he continues to gain even further experience.
Congratulations to Jaiden on a fine season so far and all of the young players within the Academy who’re making great progress.
