The following is issued as clarification in reponse to a message published by KHIST:
KHFC was this week approached by KHIST who requested permission to stage a bucket collection on behalf of Nuneaton Borough supporters who, along with the club, are are raising money for their current plight.
Understanding more than most the position of Nuneaton Borough, KHFC was happy to help facilitate this, but was mindful that Nuneaton Borough have outstanding financial obligations to KHFC, which have had a significant impact on KHFC in recent weeks and in a climate where money is tight for all clubs.
With this in mind and with the fact that any monies raised by Nuneaton’s supporters would need to be passed to their club at some eventuality in order to alleviate their financial concerns, KHFC, with a wish to help in some way, contacted both KHIST and Nuneaton Borough directly with the request that the club support the collection staged by KHIST, and in return monies raised would first and foremost go towards settling Nuneaton’s obligation to KHFC. This would not only help ease Nuneaton’s financial position, however slightly, but also ensure KHFC was, at least in part, not quite so significantly out of pocket.
Nuneaton Borough as a club accepted this proposition happily and with extreme gratitude towards both KHFC and KHIST with a view to proceeding.
Unfortunately, KHIST found the club’s request to be unreasonable and unacceptable, and subsequently opted against staging the collection at Aggborough altogether on that basis.
