HARRIERS U23 were due to play a ‘Champion of Champions’ tie on Saturday – but the game has now been postponed.
The Reds had won their West Division within the Total Motion Midland Football League earlier this term.
They were due to meet Bedworth United, the East Division winners, to crown an overall League Champion, at Alvechurhch on Saturday.
Sadly this game will have to be postponed; Alvechurch’s are now set to host Stourbridge in a crunch play-off encounter. The move to play the tie there and then, confirmed on Friday, is the latest in a lengthy saga over the play-offs at that level.
Plans had been thrown into chaos after it emerged Stratford Town, one of the other teams in the shake-up, were facing an FA investigation having been found to have fielded an ineligible player.
One of either Stratford, Stourbridge, Alvechurch or King’s Lynn will meet the winner of the Northern Premier League play-offs to determine who will make it up to National League North next season.
There is, at the time of writing, no news on a prospective new date or venue for the U23s fixture.
