Boss: Players deserved more

More from the boss after the weekend’s defeat…

John Pemberton

BOSS John Pemberton felt his team deserved more than they got from the defeat to Alfreton on Saturday, writes Elliot Ball.

The Reds suffered an unlucky loss after a tightly contested home game against the early high-flyers from the Impact Arena.

After praising the performance and effort displayed by his players, Manager reflected that his charges deserved more.

He reflected: “I’m not as disappointed as I’ve been when we’ve been beaten before, as I thought we were magnificent today.

“I thought we coped with them really well; we looked strong, we looked fit and at times we pinned them back. We just needed that quality in the final third.

“I don’t think we got the result we deserved, and If we keep playing like that, with that battle and performance, it will turn around definitely.

“We’re opening teams up; we’re playing well but we just make a stupid error somewhere along the line and we seem to get punished at the moment.”

Harriers are back in action again on Tuesday evening, when they entertain Brackley at Aggborough (7:45pm).

Home fans can purchase match tickets in advance for the Main Stand, with a print-at-home facility available.
