Recap from Aggborough as Harriers pick up a valuable win against Altrincham…

Action from Harriers 2-0 Altrincham [14-09-19]

HARRIERS picked up their first Aggborough victory of the season with a deserved 2-0 win over Altrincham.

Ashley Chambers netted a brace, scoring a goal in each half as the Reds dominated from start to finish.

The home side racked up almost 20 attempts at the Alty goal and, although Robins chances were kept to a premium, the visitors were denied by some sound defending by John Pemberton’s charges, including a fantastic block by Rhys Williams and some good saves and handling by goalkeeper, Tom Palmer.

Chambers’ goals took his tally for the season to eight; a deft chip lofting into the top corner on 11 minutes, before a fantastic run and finish on the angle made it 2-0 in the second half.

The tireless Richard Peniket, Declan Weeks, Ed Williams and Sam Austin all had attempts to try and add a third for Harriers during an impressive performance. Peniket in particular went closest, hitting the post in the first half and firing wide in the second.
