Russ calls for Boston boost

“We need everyone – whether it’s 900 or 1,600, the lads need their support.

RUSS PENN wants Harriers fans to stay right behind their team ahead of this Saturday’s game with Boston United.

The tie is the third inside a week at Aggborough for the Reds, on the back of fixtures against Southport and Gateshead.

Whilst the previous two have garnered just a point between them, the finish to the latter left Aggborough sounding much more like its old self in terms of atmosphere.

Speaking to harriers.co.uk, caretaker boss Penn noted that shift, and would love to have more of the same this weekend.

He said of the Aggborough faithful: “Hopefully they’re buying into what I’m doing, and what we are doing as a club.

“We have got to be together in these situations.

“We need everyone – whether it’s 900 or 1,600, the lads need their support.

“We are where we are for whatever reason, but we’ll get there – it just takes time.

“I think fans appreciate hard work and, if you work hard first and foremost, they’ll always back you.”
