Prosser “happier” under Shan

Alex Prosser: “I feel sharper with every game and I’m enjoying it.

Kidderminster Harriers' Alex Prosser

ALEX PROSSER admits new boss Jimmy Shan has helped breath fresh life into his Aggborough career.

The former Aston Villa midfielder is enjoying a run in the team at present having been forced to be patient for opportunities in the eleven.

Prior to December, Prosser hadn’t started a game for Harriers in the league since the draw at Blyth in early September.

But, after playing all bar the first eight minutes of the game against Gateshead on December 3, the 21-year-old has gone on to make successive starts.

The latter have come under the guidance of new man Shan, and Prosser himself admits the new gaffer has made a big difference.

“I am a lot happier when I’m playing,” he said.

“I feel sharper with every game and I’m enjoying it.

“Confidence is important in football and the new manager has given me that. When you have that confidence, you tend to perform better.”

The feeling is somewhat mutual, too, with Shan admitting to being an admirer of the player.

He added: “I’ve known Alex for a number of years, I’ve known him through the Academy system and played up against him.”

“He’s got the right pedigree and the right ingredients to be a successful player here.

“He’s an honest individual and his work ethic is very good.”
