HARRIERS and Altrincham were made to settle for a share of the spoils after a 1-1 draw at Moss Lane.
Still showing significant, continued improvement under the new management of Jimmy Shan, Harriers dominated much of the early stages, and led at half time thanks to a Milan Butterfield goal.
The home side came into it after the break and pressed Harriers back a little – they levelled eventually through Louis Moult, though Harriers had chances to extend their lead prior.
It was indeed a positive start. Harriers might well have gone ahead inside eight minutes, but a good save by goalkeeper Thompson turned his angled effort around the post.
A deserved opener arrived on 20 minutes, though, when great work from Austin was capped by a great cross that, arriving late into the box, Butterfield nodded downward and into the net.
Peers was lively for the home side and had a trio of efforts to net before the break; the latter of which saw him curl an attempted chip drift just wide.
Early in the second half, Hemmings almost caught out Thompson with a low drive that needed turning around the foot of the post, before Mannion at the other end held well from Walker.
Harriers had a cracking chance to put the game to bed on 66 minutes when sub Freemantle broke superbly before playing in Shenton – he charged on to the ball and fired at Thompson who stopped it well with his feet.
That was a platform for the hosts to captialise – seven minutes later they were level, Moult pouncing as Harriers dithered from a corner to poke the ball past Mannion.
