JIMMY Shan has paid tribute to the “magnificent” defensive work carried out by his team in Saturday’s victory at King’s Lynn Town.
Harriers picked up a vital three points in Norfolk to help their quest to move away from the danger zone in National League North.
Alex Prosser and Ashley Chambers netted fine goals in the first half to set the Reds on their way to a 2-0 victory and, while giving them their due credit, the boss rightly also praised the work done elsewhere on the pitch.
Speaking after the game, the 41-yeear-old said: “We’ve had a very good week working towards that performance.
“Today, with the conditions, we had a lot of balls in and around our back five, and I thought they were tremendous.

“[That] shows the organisation and the ability to stay connected and together as a team… I thought the back five were magnificent today, and the midfield four in front of them as well.”
Shan added: “We knew that we had to have a willing mentality, play winning football and, first and foremost, defend.
“I thought the boys were magnificent with that.”
Harriers are next in action this Saturday, 8th February when Darlington visit Aggborough.
