IAN Clarkson is the latest name to feature in an exclusive interview for The Harrier as part of the series marking the 20th anniversary of our title-winning season of 2000.

The former Birmingham City man was a stalwart of both the Aggborough side that earned promotion to the Football League, and the outfit that established themselves at that level in the couple of years that followed.

Now 49, Clarkson racked up well over 100 appearances in that time and is fondly remembered as a steadying, reliable influence on that Harriers team.

Speaking to Harry Taylor in this Saturday’s issue against Guiseley, Clarkson recalls his arrival at Aggborough, hailing it as “a second chance” at full-time football once promotion was secured.

The interview gives a fantastic insight into the mentality and spirit within the camp during the 1999-2000 season and beyond, as well as his own career since hanging up his boots.

It’s just a small part of what is another packed issue of The Harrier, which is available online now and throughout Aggborough Stadium prior to Saturday’s game.
