Harriers are delighted to welcome Luke Maxwell back to the club on a contract for the new season.
Luke is another ideal addition to the squad as a local lad who needs no introduction to the club.
A graduate of our Academy, he made his first team debut in 2014 before his performances alerted the attention of Birmingham City who swooped for his signature.
Maxwell, who flourished in midfield here before further honing his skills in defence while at St Andrew’s, spent three years on the books with Blues.
“I’m looking forward to enjoying my football again – there isn’t a better place for me to be doing it…” Luke Maxwell
During that time, he picked up further first-team experience with Grimsby Town, Gateshead and Solihull Moors before joining the latter on a permanent basis in 2019.
Luke spent part of last season on loan with Gloucester City in National League North but returns to Aggborough ready to help boss Russ Penn and the team compete in 2020/21.

“It’s good to be back playing for this club – it’s my hometown club and where I’ve played my most enjoyable football.
“This is perfect for me. I’ve lived here all my life and I’ve played with the gaffer at Gateshead. I know what he’s all about, and I’m looking forward to enjoying my football again – there isn’t a better place for me to be doing it.”
Luke has joined the club on a one-year deal, subject to FA confirmation.
