RUSS Penn expects skipper Cliff Moyo to continue leading by example for Harriers this season.
Combative defender Moyo made 36 starts for the Reds last term as a virtual ever present in his first campaign at Aggborough.
He chipped in with a couple of goals, too, and proved his versatility when used in other areas of the pitch, too.
With the 2020/21 season due to get underway on 3 October, Penn told harriers.co.uk he expects to get exactly the same service again from the former Guiseley this time around.
“I signed Cliff last year and was very keen to bring him to the club before John Pemberton came in,” said the gaffer.
“He was one of our most consistent performers during last season in a year where consistency was hard to come by.
“You know what you’re going to get from Cliff and his reliability will be massive for us again this year.”
Adding there was no consideration that anyone other than Moyo would continue with the armband this season, Penn said: “He was my Captain and he’ll continue in that role.
“I’m delighted with the mix of players we’ve already got for this time of year – I want Captains on the pitch with and without the armband and Cliff is right at the heart of it .”
