As the 2020/21 season draws closer, we look at how the Vanarama National League North is expected to line-up for the upcoming campaign.

As of 28th July, the scheduled start date is Saturday 3rd October 2020, with the season commencing for National League North clubs with FA Cup action.

Who was promoted to National League?

KING’S LYNN TOWN

Despite sitting in second position when football was suspended in March, The Linnets leap-frogged York City to the National League North title due to the points-per-game method that was used to decide the outcome, and thus sealing back-to-back promotions to the National League for the 2020/21 season.

ALTRINCHAM

Featuring in all three round of the National League North play-offs, The Robins knocked out Chester and York City before sealing promotion against Boston United in the Play Off Final.


Who was relegated from National League North?

NO-ONE!

Due to all league seasons being declared null and void at English football’s tier seven and below, no teams were relegated from National League North.

Blyth Spartans and Bradford (Park Avenue) occupied the two relegation places when football was suspended, but will now remain in National League North for the 2020/21.


Who was relegated from National League?

CHORLEY

Harriers have enjoyed several tasty encounters against The Magpies in recent reasons, and the two sides will face each other again during 2020/21 following relegation from the National League.

AFC FYLDE

Another side to have competed fiercely against Harriers in recent seasons, The Coasters return to National League North following a three year stint in non league’s top flight.


Details of fixtures for 2020/21 season will be released in due course, and is expected to be in early September.
