RUSS PENN admits the start to the new season will be  “full on” – but says he can’t wait to get going.

In just a few weeks time, Harriers start their competitive 2020-21 season with a match in the FA Cup.

Just days later, the Reds entertain Chester at Aggborough to open the National League North term.

That’s swiftly followed by a trek up to the Northern Echo Arena, where Darlington are due to stage at least their initial home games.

It makes of a packed beginning, but the boss is adamant that’s how he likes it.

Reflecting on the release of the new season’s fixtures, he said: “It’s a great start, Chester, in the play-offs last year, at home under the lights.

“It would have been a really good crowd if we weren’t restricted – and then we go up to Darlo.

“I think the last time I played in that stadium was 15 years ago!

“It’s good, it’s full on and I’m looking forward to it!”

Harriers have enjoyed some memorable afternoons at Darlington’s huge arena.

We were the first visitors for the first ever league game there in 2003 and came away 2-0 winners, following up with another 2-0 victory 18 months later.
