HARRIERS host Darlington on Saturday looking to finally get their National League North season back underway.
The Reds have been itching to get back at it since the restart of the season at this level, but were thwarted by heavy snow in midweek which put paid to the trip to Boston.
Now it’s all eyes on Saturday when Harriers prepare to host the Quakers on home soil.
It’ll be a first outing for Russ Penn’s men since the defeat at Gloucester on 9 January so, understandably, Harriers man Ashley Hemmings said the squad “can’t wait” for the meeting.
“I was looking forward to [Tuesday] which was called off due to the pitch,” he said, fresh from having extended his stay with Harriers earlier this week.
“We’ve just got to look to Saturday now, the boys are ready to go. We’ve been training hard and the gaffer has got into us, so let’s hope we can get that feeling back.
“The boys are up for it and we can’t wait. It’ll probably be Saturday-Tuesday until the end of the season now, but we’ve got the players and the staff that are monitoring us as well.
“We’ll need everybody and everybody is ready to go.”
Penn will have a fully fit squad to choose from going into the game, with only the suspended Amari Morgan-Smith unavailable.
Despite freezing conditions in the area, the Club have actively done all it can to protect the pitch throughout the week and are confident ahead of the weekend.
A victory would give Harriers a league double over Darlington this season following an impressive 3-1 away success earlier in the term.
Kick-off at Aggborough on Saturday is at 3:00pm
