HARRIERS snatched back the local bragging rights by sweeping aside Hereford 3-0 at Aggborough in National League North.
Goals in the first half from Sam Austin and Amari Morgan-Smith (2) did the job against The Bulls and secured three more important points.
After a cagey beginning, Harriers upped the pressure on their visitors, with Omari Sterling forcing a good save from Brandon Hall before the ex-Harrier then turned aside a drive from Amari Morgan-Smith.
Not long after, a sharp move saw a deep Penny cross stabbed at in the area by Hemmings who saw the attempt fire off target. Five minutes later, the pressure told on Hereford when Pearce pulled back Morgan-Smith and was deservedly shown a red card.
The resultant free-kick led to a corner that in turn led to the opening goal – the ball nodded down to Austin who fired it superbly from 20 yards into the far corner with Hall rooted to the spot.
The Bulls were then blown away by two further goals before the break. First, Austin returned returned the favour with a low cross that Morgan-Smith swept home, before the striker then superbly tucked away Penny’s cross with a sharp turn.
Hemmings and Sterling did have chances to add to the score after the break but found their attempts a little wayward.
On 65 minutes, Morgan-Smith linked up with Penny again before firing across goal and nearly getting his hat-trick, before the defender almost got in on the act with a mazy run through the defence and a shot that angled just past the far post.
