HARRIERS racked up a huge crowd of almost 4,000 at Aggborough for their midweek National League North clash against Hereford.

The local derby saw a turnout of 3,912 – including well over 3,000 home supporters.

The Reds went on to win 3-0 against Hereford, with the attendance confirmed as the biggest Harriers midweek league attendance at the ground since 2002 and a match against Luton Town in what is now League 2 for Jan Molby’s men.

In non-league circles, you have to go back prior to the club’s promotion from the National League in 2000 to find a midweek figure that tops the 15th February collision with the Bulls.

“3,900 on a Tuesday night in February, that’s special,” commented Harriers assistant boss Jimmy O’Connor.

“That’s a testament to everyone at the club… I think we’re at a loss for worth with the support we’re getting.”

This incredible gathering came after more than 800 fans hit the road to back the team for the League win at AFC Telford United days earlier.

Those crowds in turn followed on from the club’s incredible FA Cup run that captured the imagination of the local community – well over 5,000 turning out for a sell-out occasion against one of the biggest footballing names in the country.

In addition, more than 4 million viewers in the UK tuned in across BBC One and iPlayer to watch true drama unfold, The Hammers eventually triumphing after extra time.
