RUSS Penn wants Harriers to get back into their groove when they host an AFC Fylde side under new management at Aggborough on Saturday.

Harriers venture into the tie on the back of successive league defeats against the league’s bottom and top clubs.

The Coasters, meanwhile, come to town having picked up an important three points at home to Bradford (Park Avenue) last Saturday.

In the lead up to that tie, Fylde had parted company with boss Jim Bentley after a run of three defeats in four put a dent in their National League North title hopes.

They’ve moved quickly to install former Gloucester and Chesterfield chief James Rowe in the Mill Farm hotseat, and his first game in charge is at Aggborough on Saturday.

Whilst the visitors are looking to start off in style under a new boss, Harriers are looking for a return to the kind of form that’s stood them in good stead for much of this league season.

Looking to put the last couple of results very much in the rear-view mirror, Penn told our YouTube channel: “Let’s draw a line – we’ve had a bad week, Saturday to Saturday and Farsley to Gateshead.

“I can take the Farsley result and performance with a pinch of salt, but I can’t accept the Gateshead performance.

“We’ve gone back to the drawing board and sometimes you need a defeat like that to make you realise what got you there in the first place.

“We’re not a bad team overnight, we’ve got to find that confidence again and go back to the base of running hard, running fast and driving the team.

“Then, when the confidence starts to appear, [they’re] good players, and good players never change.”

Harriers could hand a debut to former Inter Milan starlet Ryan Nolan after he signed on loan from Northampton Town this week.

The boss confirmed he’s still managing ‘knocks and niggles’ within the squad, but welcomed the addition of the 23-year-old who is here a one-month loan.

Harriers will also be boosted by the return of Joe Foulkes after his one-match suspension.

Saturday sees the team return to Aggborough after two tough trips, with Penn adding: “The energy around here is great – we don’t need to generate our own atmosphere here.

“[The fans]  been fantastic this season and I know they’ll be fantastic on Saturday, so we’re absolutely buzzing to be back at home.”

Harriers and Fylde fans are reminded that there is no longer the facility to pay cash at the turnstiles at Aggborough.

You can still pay in person on the day of the game at the Ticket Office (including in cash), but this incurs a £2 increase on our standard match day prices, so your best bet is to purchase in advance of the day if you can – as this will also potentially save you some queueing!

You can do so online via our ticketing platform or, if you need assistance, by calling 01562 823 931 during opening hours.

Again, it is still possible to buy your tickets at the Ticket Office (up to 15 minutes after kick-off), but you can’t pay cash at the turnstile.

Fans can also purchase their copy of the official match day programme, The Harrier, for this game. Issue 20 can be ordered online for postage now, with copies also on sale throughout the ground and in the Club Shop.

Kick-off at Aggborough on Saturday is at 3:00pm.
