HARRIERS players and fans will this season enjoy an even greater experience at their home ground, Aggborough Stadium, after the installation of a state-of-the-art LED lighting system.

The club, coming off a brilliant performance in the 2021-22 FA Cup, gained successful planning for the new stadium lighting earlier this summer and has recently completed installation at Aggborough.

The new lights are being designed and engineered by industry leader Musco Lighting, which has installed custom LED systems at the home grounds of more than half of the current English Premier League clubs, as well as smaller stadiums, training academies, and grassroots pitches around the world. The LED system will replace the Harriers’ current HID lighting, which Musco installed in 2003.

The new system includes patented technology that greatly minimises glare from affecting players and spectators, as well as spill light from disrupting areas neighbouring the stadium. It will include advanced special effects capabilities for cutting-edge light shows with music-to-light synchronization.

Additionally, the structural components of the new lighting system will include a custom-built headframe in the shape of an “H” as an added tribute to Harriers players and fans.

Harriers’ owner, Richard Lane, was delighted to continue the partnership with Musco Lighting as its floodlight provider. He said: “My team conducted their due diligence to ensure we had the best stadium lighting in place at a competitive price, with Musco coming out on top in the field. The upgrade should provide the club with suitable lighting levels for many years to come and will provide us with a lighting platform that meets the requirements of the two leagues above our current division. But more than this, we hope the combination of the personalized ‘H’ frames and the light show technology will help intensify the match day experience for our supporters.”

Russ Penn, the First team Manager added: “I want my players and the Harriers fans to enjoy the experience of playing at Aggborough and this will only enhance that terrific atmosphere. I’m sure everyone will enjoy the added dynamics of a light show for the players’ walk on, and hopefully we’ll have the chance to see the same for goal celebrations as well.”

Kidderminster Harriers acknowledge that this investment has only been made possible thanks to the support of the Football Foundation and the financial rewards generated as a result of the success it enjoyed reaching the Fourth Round of the Emirates FA Cup.
