HARRIERS endured a painful visit to title-chasing King’s Lynn and suffered a 3-0 defeat at The Walks.

While not top at present having played fewer games than those above them, Lynn will be comfortably at the summit with wins from those additional ties, and played with confidence throughout this tie.

Harriers defended resolutely for a half to keep them at bay. Tom Palmer saved from a deflected third-minute effort, before holding Josh Barrett’s effort with 19 gone.

Aaron Jones forced Palmer to save an effort around the post with 34 on the clock, before Harriers saw the best chance of the day by a distance squirm away ten minutes later. Richards combined well with Owen-Evans and crossed to Freemantle, but with the ball just behind him the striker couldn’t get clean contact on it and could only notch it wide.

Cruelly, King’s Lynn took the lead seconds later as a route corner was headed by in by Coulson who rose highest in the area to put his team in front.

Lynn were 2-0 up early in the second period. It was another corner, and Widdrington too easily got on the end of the delivery to head across goal and into the far corner.

On 65 minutes it was 3-0, the lively and predatory Gold Omotayo robbing Harriers from a throw-in and baiting Palmer before coolly planting the ball beyond him.

Stephens forced Palmer into a 71st minute save as Lynn pushed for more goals, but Harriers managed to stave off any further damage.
