A look back to Tuesday night’s defeat at Chorley…

HARRIERS suffered another night to forget in Chorley as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at Victory Park.

The Reds have endured many a long night or afternoon at the hands of the Magpies and this one proved no different – little for the travelling fans to cheer and a first sending off of the season to make matters worse.

The hosts had the lead inside 14 minutes. It was a red shirt that did well to rise to meet a long throw into the area, but Jon Ustabasi was quickest to watch it down and volley a superb finish into the net.

Jack Sampson almost made it 2-0 to Chorley within a minute but leant a little too far back in stretching for a header at close range, sending it over.

Before the break Christian Dibble held an Ustabasi drive as the hosts searched for a second, before the best Harriers chance of the night fell to Alex Penny. Caleb Richards struck a great cross that found Penny at the far post, unmarked, only for the Harriers man to tap his finish from three yards against the post.

On 53 minutes a grounded Krystian Pearce, floored at a corner, managed to scuff a shot wide of the target as bodies scrambled to get on the end of it, the night ultimately sealed for Harriers 13 minutes later with the dismissal of Nathaniel Knight-Percival for two needless yellow cards in quick succession.

There was no real flurry of late chances for Chorley to press home their numerical advantage, no any great salvo on the home goal. There was one chance, however, that came as Bearne did well out wide and crossed low for Owen-Evans who stabbed the ball at goal from an acute angle. Goalkeeper Matt Urwin stayed alert to keep it out and secure the point.
