HARRIERS fell to a late Aggborough  defeat, going down 1-0 to Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League.

The Reds had begun the game strongly and, early on, had chances to take the lead when Bailey Hobson was played in on goal and forced a smart save from the Dagenham goalkeeper, and when Matt Preston headed a delivery over the bar.

Come the half hour, Ben Tollitt was looking dangerous and took aim; the loanee seeing his shot blocked, before Amari Morgan-Smith tried an inventive finish from the resulting corner, his attempt pulling wide of the far post.

Hessenthaler was a big Dagenham threat in the second half and he had a couple of the visitors’ best openings. First, he struck off target with a shot from inside the area. After, when well placed, he planted a header over Christian Dibble’s bar.

Harriers struggled for a creative flair in the second period, though a goalless draw looked a fairly safe bet as the game ebbed towards what looked like that very conclusion.

Tragically for the hopes of Harriers fans, The Daggers struck a late winner. A corner was whipped into the area and wasn’t dealt with decisively, Eastman on hand at the far post to finish into the net.
