HARRIERS Manager Phil Brown has snapped up his first signing as boss with the acquisition of striker Sam Bellis on loan from Barrow.

The 21-year-old is is a former Manchester City and Southampton Academy player, who spent four years with the St. Mary’s outfit before his switch to the Bluebirds.

That came in the summer and after a pre-season that saw him catch the eye. The 21-year-old recovered from injury during the warm-up campaign to ink terms back in August.

With regular first-team football now on his mind, he’s linked up with Harriers until the end of the season.

Brown said: “Sam’s had a great career to start off with and is of that pedigree.

“He’s shown an initiative off the field of play this week that hopefully, if he shows it on the field of play, we’ll have a player who can get hold of a game.

“He’s in the goal scoring end of the pitch so we’re hoping he’s going to come and let the handbrake off in the final third, and it’s a good sign that somebody wants to come and join us and help us get out of the problem we’re in.”
