LONG-SERVING goalkeeper Tom Palmer will remain with harriers for the new season – while also increasing his coaching duties at Aggborough.
A graduate of our Academy, Palmer first signed a professional contract as a teenager and has been regular fixture in and around the first team squad and as a coach our Academy.
Now about to turn 25, he’s put pen to paper on a new contract for 2024-25, and will add more first-team goalkeeper coaching responsibility to his role, with Manager Phil Brown explaining: “Tom still wants to be a goalkeeper, there’s no doubt about it.
“I improved as a player when I started my coaching badges, I can’t emphasise that to any player, regardless of how old you are.
“Tom Palmer taking his coaching badges and being a coach will make him a better player, will make him a better goalkeeper, and he’s probably got a better chance of being the Number 1 because of it.”
Brown added: “Christian Dibble will know he’s still in a scrap, and I’m hoping Josh Bishop will push through as will, so the Goalkeeper’s Union, for sure, is in a good place.”
Congratulations, Palms!
