AFTER a successful double header at Aggborough, Harriers continue their season at Warrington on Saturday (3pm).
Phil Brown’s men saw off Radcliffe and Darlington with a brace of important wins in DY10 to continue a positive start to the new National League North campaign.
The challenges still come thick and fast, however, with an August Bank Holiday double seeing the Reds tackle Oxford City on home soil on Monday after the Warrington test.
It will undoubtedly be a firm test for Harriers on Saturday against a Yellows side who were victorious in their first home clash of the term, seeing off Peterborough Sports 2-1 last weekend.
That sandwiched defeats against King’s Lynn Town and South Shields as Saturday’s hosts continue to settle into the new season.
Looking ahead, Brown told the Harriers YouTube channel: “I’ve been to something like 16 or 17 of the 23 venues, Warrington being one of them.
“I might be wrong here, but I’m sure Everton reserves used to play there in a transition period while they were building their new training ground.
“It was an old-fashioned stadium and, if that’s still the case, it would come straight to mind as soon as I walk in there.
“They’ve done it the right way and we’ve done our homework on them, and I think, as I’ve made reference to the character of their team, you always make reference to the character of their team, and more importantly the character of their manager.
“It’s a club that’s very well run and it’s the next challenge in front of us, but we’ll go there [with] a clean sheet mentality, and if we don’t keep a clean sheet, we keep the next clean sheet.
“But we go there with the mentality that we play the style of football that will try and win the game.
“We always plan to win the game, and if you don’t win the game, make sure you don’t lose it. With that kind of mentality and the kind of footballers we have in the football club, it’s a recipe for success.
“We’re going there on Saturday with the full intention of trying to win the game.”
In terms of team news, new man Tope Obadeyi is in line for a possible first-team debut for Harriers after signing a contract earlier this week.
Amari Morgan-Smith continues to undergo regular assessment in his bid to return from concussion.
Harriers fans can purchase match tickets online, in advance from Warrington’s website, warringtontownfc.co.uk, or on the day, but are reminded that a saving can be made when buying prior to match day.
Kick off is at 3:00pm.
