AS WELL as making good progress in the league, Harriers head back into the Adobe Women’s FA Cup this weekend with a Third Qualifying Round tie.
The Reds host Redditch United at COSE on Sunday (13th) as the two sides battle to reach the First Round Proper.
They do so having emphatically seen off Solihull Sporting in the last round, a 9-0 success away from home ensuring Andy Fisher’s side were well and truly in the draw, seven different scorers contributing to the victory, including a hat-trick for Eloise Harris.
Last weekend, back in league action, Harriers served up the ideal second half showing to overcome adversity and seal a 2-0 victory over Coundon Court.
Looking to bounce back from the 3-1 defeat at Shrewsbury in the WMRFL League Cup in their prior match, Harriers were dealt a blow with the loss of influential skipper Amber Lawrence to a controversial red card in the first half at 0-0.
The side showed tremendous character and, despite the disadvantage, secured the win thanks to goals from the in-form Harris and Senna Robinson.
The victory, a third successive win in the league, moves Harriers up to fourth in the table and within three points of leaders Shifnal.
Now, the challenge of Redditch awaits in the next round – any support at COSE for Sunday’s 2pm kick off would be most welcome.
