HARRIERS were knocked out of the FA Cup by by Guiseley as the Northern Premier League side repeated their cup heroics with a 1-0 win at Aggborough.

Having toppled Scunthorpe United in the previous round, Mark Bower’s charges dealt the same blow to Phil Brown’s men, who came closest on the day to a penalty from Ashley Hemmings that was saved by goalkeeper Joe Cracknell.

Harriers had controlled much of the first half and created enough chances to have put the tie to bed, but were left to rue some missed chances and saves by Cracknell.

As early as the 11th minute, the shot-stopper thwarted Hemmings at close range after good work at the by line, then holding a David Davis header from a free kick.

Two minutes later, Zak Brown snatched the ball in midfield and charged forward before laying in Hemmings. He drove firmly at the target but struck over the bar.

The key chance came on 33 minutes. After a handball in the area, Hemmings stepped up to take a penalty kick, but found Cracknell between the sticks unmoved as he stayed rooted to block the effort.

Hemmings drew Cracknell into another good save three minutes later before Richards and then Foulkes narrowly blasted wide with further opportunities.

Hemmings, two before the break, hit wide from Kouhyar’s cross, before the York City loanee went close himself seven after the restart with a low drive that Cracknell saved.

After an absolute barrage of openings up to that point, Harriers suddenly found themselves unable to break down a Guiseley side who sensed they were very much still in the Cup tie, pouncing tow in it on 84 minutes when John Lufudu’s strong run and cross was side-footed into the net by one-time Aggborough loanee Will Longbottom.

It was at that stage that the hosts’ composure began to falter as passes became more hurried and lose, Guiseley going closest to a second goal in the game when Dibble had to save Jack Emmett’s effort and Joe Ackroyd’s follow-up.
