HARRIERS bagged an important three points on the road with a richly deserved 3-0 win at Needham Market on Saturday.

The Reds controlled large spells of the game after a tricky start and were well worth their three-goal win, a margin that might even have been much greater in the end.

It was Needham Market, looking for back-to-back home wins, who made the better of the early running, Valentine and Lambe proving to be real threats, the latter forcing Dibble into an early save before the later fired over from the resultant corner.

On nine minutes, Ashley Hemmings skewed a header wide but, on 33 minutes, made absolutely no mistake from a similar position as he buried an inviting Joe Foulkes cross to score his fourth of the campaign.

Harriers then soaked up some more pressure from the hosts but, tellingly, without the concession of any clear-cut chances – the second goal of the day coming on 43 minutes when Devine chased a ball down to the by-line and pulled it back to teeĀ  up David Davis who turned it into the next to send over 100 visiting fans into raptures.

The visitors then really began to turn the screw. Richards shot low and hard, an angled effort missing the bottom corner by a whisker before Brown’s rising drive was beaten away by the Needham goalkeeper.

Kouhyar was dangerous throughout the afternoon and forced a four minutes into the second half before Hemmings bagged his second, a finish from inside the area after a superb leap from Morgan-Smith to nod a ball down into his path.

Kouhyar and Hemmings then combined again on 62 minutes and, with a hat-trick in the offing, the marksman fired over the target. Five minutes later, Morgan-Smith showed great strength to shrug off his man at the far post and get a shot off, the ball clattering the post.

Foulkes was a willing provider on the day and, with 15 minutes left, he drove a cross low for Hemmings who dashed to get on the end of it, stretching to get a toe on the end of it, the ball fizzing over.

There was enough time before three minutes of added at the end of the affair for Dibble to be tested again, but he saved well from Mills as he tried to reduce the arrears.
