HARRIERS put in a display of the utmost professionalism to down struggling Farsley Celtic 6-0 at Buxton’s Tarmac Silverlands on Sunday.

Effectively without a home ground of their own this season and battling off-field issues, Celtic fielded a largely youthful side for the National League North side and battled throughout with a tireless performance.

Ultimately, experience and some real attacking threat won out in the end, with Harriers two up inside six minutes. The opener came when Reiss McNally nodded a superb, looping header into the top corner from David Worrall’s cross, while the second saw a Harriers ball forward headed inadvertently into the path of Amari Morgan-Smith who slid a firm, first-time finish past the goalkeeper.

It was 3-0 on 17 minutes; Maz Kouhyar was a tricky customer all afternoon and cut inside with a looping ball that found the net with the aid of a touch from Ashley Hemmings who netted for the 19th time this season in all competitions.

Morgan-Smith went close to making it 4-0 on 37 minutes when his volley flew over the bar, but did so in any case a few minutes later; threaded through beautifully and unselfishly by Kouhyar before driving the ball home.

Much like the first half, the second period was just a couple of minutes old when a goal arrived. Hemmings, netting Harriers’ fifth, superbly took down Zak Brown’s ball before angling an effort into the far corner.

The sixth and final goal of the day came with 75 minutes on the clock, sub Tope Obadeyi holding up the ball well before pulling it back for Kam Kandola to sweep it low and firmly past Will Brooks.

Fellow sub Charlie Lutz had a brace of chances to add to the tally with his first goal of the club, but found Brooks in good form on each occasion.
