Friday: Rushall v Harriers

A look ahead to Good Friday

Harriers players celebrate

HARRIERS travel the short distance to Rushall Olympic on Good Friday.

The Reds do so knowing that, really, only positive results will do in each of the three games that remain in the National League North season.

Still trailing league leaders Scunthorpe at the top of the table, there is little margin for error ahead of the challenge of meeting the already-relegated Pics to kick off the Easter period.

Rushall’s stay in National League North has already been ended after a campaign of struggle, a recent run of just a couple of wins in 15 putting paid to their Step 2 status.

They’ve far from been marooned at the foot of the table, however. Harriers are well aware of their qualities as, at New Year, The Pics won 1-0 in the reverse game at Aggborough Stadium.

Three points on that day launched the side into a terrific run of just one defeat in seven – Scunthorpe also amongst the victims – but it was form they were ultimately unable to maintain.

With the pressure of needing points to stay up now removed, Rushall will be able to approach Friday’s game with a different kind of enthusiasm.

Their threat is arguably bigger on their own patch, too – the Iron fell there, as have South Shields and Hereford over the last few weeks.

There is no significant rivalry of meetings between Harriers and Rushall to speak of. Competitively, they’ve met just once aside from this season’s Aggborough clash, a 1984 FA Cup tie that the Reds won 2-1 on the road.

Harriers will have to assess Maz Kouhyar (illness) heading into kick off on Friday, though Phil Brown has spoken positively about the possible inclusion of Kam Kandola shortly.

Finn Roberts is among those also pushing for a place in the 16 as the on-loan Crewe man awaits his Harriers debut.

Team news, Rushall and the end-of-season run-in were all discussed by the Manager in his latest interview which can be played below.

Kick off on Saturday is at 3:00pm.

A final couple of away travel places for Friday’s game remain on sale from the club up to and including Friday afternoon, while fan can purchase match tickets in advance from Rushall’s website to make a small, advance saving.

The hosts have also asked us to make visiting fans aware that food stations at the ground are cash only.

Please read an important club statement on supporter behaviour ahead of the game while Rushall’s website also has important information.

SUPPORTER CONDUCT

Harriers again strongly supports The National League and Football Association in delivering their antisocial conduct message.

Please review the following information before visiting Aggborough or following the team on the road, and remember that your entry into Aggborough Stadium, or any other venue, is subject to the acceptance of the National League’s Ground regulations and adherence to the Smoke No Joke policy.
