Harriers Academy to launch new Under-21s programme

New Academy Under-21s programme set for 2026-27…

HARRIERS Academy are set to launch a new Under-21s programme in a bid to bridge the pathway to the men’s first team.

Kidderminster Harriers are pleased to announce the launch of a new Under-21s programme, which will begin in 2026/27.

The programme will bring U21s football back to the club and creating an enhanced development pathway for emerging talent.

The programme has been designed to support young players for longer within the Harriers environment and provide a clear bridge between the U18s youth programme and first-team football.

Fully aligned with the club’s Youth EDS module (U14s-U16s), the initiative aims to ensure that promising players continue to develop technically, tactically and physically within a professional structure.

The U21s programme will consist of three weekly training interactions plus a Saturday matchday competing in the U21s league and various midweek competitions.

Each interaction will take place in Kidderminster and will include a comprehensive development model delivered as a team, consisting of:

  • On-grass training sessions
  • Performance analysis
  • Strength and conditioning in the gym

Sessions will operate as a hybrid schedule of evening and daytime training, adapting across the year depending on the season and player availability.

The programme will be led by former professional footballers and senior coaching staff, providing players with experienced guidance and insight into the demands of the professional game.

To maintain the quality and commitment required, players must:

  • Be eligible to play at U21 level
  • Attend all programme interactions where possible to maximise their development and the effectiveness of the squad environment.

The U21s will operate as a subscription-based programme, with a monthly fee in place to support the delivery of coaching, facilities and performance services.

This new structure reinforces Kidderminster Harriers’ commitment to developing young players and creating genuine opportunities for progression into senior football.

Applications for trials are now open, and you can apply by tapping here, whilst any queries can be directed via email to academy@harriers.co.uk.
