TWO second half goals were enough to ensure Harriers picked up another useful pre-season win at Halesowen.
Boss Paul Wotton tested his squad in the heat once again at The Grove against a competitive and robust Yeltz, and was pleased with what he saw in large spells.
Harriers were a little wayward in their shooting in the first 45 minutes but controlled much of the play and created the key chances – Callum Dolan firing across goal with the first of them on 16 minutes.
Max Brogan struck over before the half-hour and Seb Thompson took aim two minutes later, but neither were able to test the goalkeeper – the same for Ben Crompton who struck over on the stroke of half time.
Two minutes after the restart, Lewis Walker showed an eye for goal with a good effort from 18 yards that needed a strong parry from the goalkeeper to push it away from danger.
Four minutes later, new man Levi Amantchi showed good pace and control to keep the ball before dinking it into the path of Walker who watched as his effort skipped just past the post.
Six after the hour it was 1-0. Harriers moved the ball quickly and a dangerous cross from Brogan was sent crashing into the net by a great header from Crompton.
Amantchi might have made it 2-0 on 77 minutes. Reece Hall met a Reece Devine cross and sent it back across goal where the stretching striker met it but diverted just over.
On his first run out in red, though, Amantchi made no mistake after Harriers won the ball back high – composing himself before rolling a neat finish into the far bottom corner.
Next up in pre-season is the trip to Stratford Town on Saturday, 25th July 3pm.
